Bad Weather Information

Tornado Watch/Warning

In the event a tornado watch/warning is in effect in Kalamazoo County at 5:30 p.m. or later on game day, all play is automatically cancelled for the evening, and games will be made up the following Monday, same time and field, unless notified otherwise.

Other Weather Conditions

Officials will make a decision at the field to cancel a game due to bad weather. 7:15 games are automatically cancelled if 6:00 games are cancelled. All games called due to weather will be played the following Monday, same time and field, unless notified otherwise.

Each team must have a minimum of 7 players at the field when the game is postponed to be considered a rain out game. The team with less than 7 players present will forfeit and receive 0 points, and the opposing team will be given 3 points for a win. If neither team has 7 players it is considered a double forefit and neither team will receive points and the game will not be replayed.

League Fees

Team Information

Each season is $600 per team. To register a team a contact person must fill out a team roster with all the information listed, all team members individial waivers, and the entire team fee to: SMWSA, 906 Palmer, Kalamazoo, MI 49001. If the documents are not postmarked by the date specified for each season the team will have to pay a late fee of $25.

Individual Information

If you are an individual looking for a team please fill out, sign and send a waiver along with the $50 individual fee to: SMWSA, 906 Palmer, Kalamazoo, MI 49001. We place you on a house team or We will find a team with your skill level and contact you as soon as possilbe.


League Rules

SMWSA is an outdoor soccer league for Women 18 years or older. If you were 18 years or older on or before April 1st of this year you are eligible to play. You may be asked to show proof of age at the time of registration.

SMWSA is governed by the majority of FIFA rulings, which include:
Shinguards are mandatory - Socks must completely cover the shinguard
Offsides Ruling - States even is on

Starging Game Time:
Officials are instructed to begin the game clock at the scheduled game time. In order to play the entire game your players should be on the field and ready to go at starting time. If you do not have 7 players on the field 10 minutes after your regularly scheduled game time a forfeit will be called.

Each team needs to present a completed scorecard to the referee before the game begins.

Games will be played in two 35 minute halves.

If you need to add someone to your roster an individual waiver must be signed and turned in before a game is played.


League Meetings and Banquets

A League Meeting is always held in the Spring Season.

If you have a proposal for the league meeting:

1.) Please turn your proposal into your contact person.
2.) Your contact person should then turn the proposal into the appropriate division coordinator.
3.) The division coordinator will then make sure the proposal is written clearly and turned into the vice president before the leauge meeting.

A League Banquet is always held after the last game of the Fall Season. Location will be announced at the beginning of the Fall Season.
